The Challenge

Bakehouse 32 needed a digital presence that would capture the authenticity and craft behind their New York style pizza. As a proudly independent restaurant since 2020, they wanted a website that showcased their unique 36-hour fermentation process, featured their rotating specials, and made it easy for customers to view the menu and find their Stretford Arndale location. The site needed to reflect their brand personality: genuine, quality-focused, and rooted in both New York pizza tradition and Manchester culture.

The Solution

I built a dynamic marketing site using Jekyll and Tailwind CSS, integrated with TinaCMS for easy content management. The solution features a striking visual design with hero imagery and a dedicated specials system built on Jekyll collections, allowing the team to easily add and update weekly specials with descriptions, ingredients, and pricing. I integrated Cloudinary for optimized image delivery with responsive WebP generation, ensuring fast load times without sacrificing visual impact. The site includes a menu PDF viewer, Google Maps integration for their Stretford Arndale location, opening hours display, and contact information.

The Result

The website successfully communicates Bakehouse 32’s craft and authenticity, with the TinaCMS integration allowing staff to manage specials and content updates without developer intervention. The responsive design and optimized images ensure a great experience across all devices, helping drive foot traffic to their Stretford location. The specials section has become a key feature, with customers regularly checking the site to see the latest creations, building anticipation and repeat visits.
